Cinco de Mayo Party – May 5

Location: Heber City Main Street Park (250 South Main Street Heber City, Utah 84032) 

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Heber City Main Street Park on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. This community-focused event features authentic Mexican food from local favorite Taqueria Los Cuñados, along with live music and entertainment throughout the evening. Hosted in collaboration with the Wasatch Latino Coalition, it’s a vibrant celebration of culture and community that brings residents together for a fun and flavorful night.  

Midway Art Walk – May 8

Location: Multiple Locations in Midway 

Enjoy a self-guided walk through the charming streets of Midway during the monthly Art Walk from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Local businesses open their doors to showcase artwork from talented regional artists, giving visitors the chance to explore galleries, meet creators, and experience the artistic side of the community. Held on the second Friday of each month, it’s a relaxing and inspiring evening outing.  

CarQuest Heber City Car Show – May 9

Location: 434 North Main Street Heber City, Utah 84032 

This FREE car show is a must-see for auto enthusiasts and families alike. Featuring a variety of classic, custom, and modern vehicles, the event includes awards, dash plaques, and a friendly “meet & greet” atmosphere. Arrive early for the best parking and take advantage of special sales at the local CarQuest store. It’s a fun, laid-back way to spend the day in Heber City.  

Midway America 250 Kickoff Celebration – May 9

Location: Midway Town Hall (130 West Main Street Midway City, Utah 84049) 

Join Midway City from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Midway Town Hall as the community kicks off its America 250 celebration. This event marks the beginning of a year-long effort to honor 250 years of American history. Be sure to participate in the Passport Experience—visit event tables, collect stamps, and turn in your completed passport to receive a commemorative America250 pin. It’s an engaging and interactive way to celebrate and connect with the community.  

The Spitfire Grill – April 24 to May 9 

Location: The Ideal Playhouse (113 North Main Street Heber City, Utah 84032) 

Catch a live performance of The Spitfire Grill at The Ideal Playhouse. This heartfelt musical follows a young parolee searching for a fresh start and the small town she helps transform along the way. With a beautiful, folk-inspired score and themes of forgiveness and hope, this production is a meaningful and uplifting experience. Recommended for ages 12 and up due to mature themes.  

Wasatch Trail Series – May 13 & 20 

May 13 Location: Soldier Hollow (1370 West W Soldier Holw Ln, Midway, UT 84049) 

May 20 Location: Coyote Mountains Trailhead (1939 Valley Hills Blvd, Heber City, UT 84032) 

The Wasatch Trail Run Series offers scenic Wednesday evening races throughout the spring and summer. These races take place on dirt trails across open space preserves and ski resorts in the region. Participants can choose between a short course (3–5 miles) or a long course (7–9 miles), making it accessible for all skill levels. Runners compete in age-based categories and earn points throughout the series, with a portion of proceeds benefiting local charities.  

Baby Animal Celebration – May 15 

Location: Heber Valley Artisan Cheese (920 River Road Midway, Utah 84049) 

Celebrate spring at the Heber Valley Artisan Cheese Farm’s Baby Animal Celebration. This hands-on event allows visitors to interact with a variety of animals, including chicks, ducks, calves, rabbits, kittens, puppies, and baby goats. Guests can enjoy hayrides, bounce houses, yard games, and more. It’s a perfect outing for families, with plenty of opportunities for kids to learn and play. Additional experiences like calf feeding and milk barn tours are also available.  

Heber City National Public Works Week – May 18–24 

Public Works Week is a week-long celebration highlighting the important work of Public Works departments throughout Heber Valley. Through engaging events and interactive experiences, residents can learn more about the infrastructure and services that support daily life in the community. 

Backhoe Rodeo – May 19 

Location: Wasatch County Events Complex Indoor Arena (415 South Field Road, Heber City, UT 84032) 

Taking place at the Wasatch County Events Complex Indoor Arena (415 South Field Road) from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, the Backhoe Rodeo brings together Public Works professionals from Heber City, Wasatch County, Jordanelle Special Service District, and Midway. Participants compete in a friendly but challenging competition that showcases their precision and skill operating heavy equipment. The event also features a kids’ digging area, interactive opportunities, and concessions available inside the arena.  

Geo Scavenger Hunt – May 20 

Location: Heber City Public Works (749 West 300 South, Heber City, UT 84032) 

The Geo Scavenger Hunt is a fun and educational way to explore Heber Valley. Participants receive a list of locations tied to Public Works departments and collect puzzle pieces at each stop. The event can be completed at your own pace throughout the day, with the final destination at Heber City Public Works (749 West 300 South). From 4:00 to 6:00 PM, participants who complete their puzzle can enjoy facility tours and receive prizes.  

Party in the Park – May 21

Location: Wasatch County South Field Park (415 South Field Road, Heber City, UT 84032)  

This large, FREE, family-friendly event takes place from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Wasatch County South Field Park (415 South Field Road). The event includes dinner at no cost, along with a wide range of activities such as train rides, rubber duck races, contests, and games. Highlights include a mechanical bull, pie eating contest, pie throwing with Paws for Life, face painting, balloon animals, and a “Meet the Machines” area featuring heavy equipment displays. It’s one of the most popular events of the month and a great way to connect with the community.  

Wasatch Back Midway Art Festival – May 22–25 

Location: Midway Community Center (160 W Main St, Midway, UT 84049) 

Held at the Midway Community Center, the Wasatch Back Midway Art Festival showcases local artists and craftspeople. Visitors can browse a variety of handmade goods, including artwork, jewelry, and home décor. It’s a great opportunity to support local talent and find unique items while enjoying the welcoming atmosphere of Midway.  

Dog Days in the Park – May 23 

Location: Heber City Main Street Park (250 South Main Street Heber City, Utah 84032) 

Join the community at Heber City Main Street Park from 10:00 AM to noon for Dog Days in the Park. This event features pet adoption opportunities, animal education, and demonstrations. Organizations like Paws for Life and Nuzzles & Co. will be present, along with the Heber City Police Department K-9 unit. It’s a fun and meaningful event for pet lovers and families alike.  

Meet the Cows Dairy Farm Tour – Daily (Monday–Saturday) 

Location: Heber Valley Milk & Artisan Cheese (920 River Road Midway, UT 84049) 

Take part in a unique farm experience with the Meet the Cows Dairy Farm Tour that begin daily at 11:00 AM. Guests will enjoy a hayride to the milking barn, where they can observe a robotic milking system—one of the first of its kind in the Western United States. Visitors can also view the barn from an elevated observation deck and learn how cows are cared for in a modern dairy operation.  

Heber Valley Railroad Events – All Month 

Location: Heber Valley Railroad (450 South 600 West Heber City, Utah 84032) 

Train rides at Heber Valley Railroad are a staple of the Heber Valley experience, and May offers a full lineup of themed excursions. Regular routes like the Deer Creek Express run Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, along with Monday Night Train rides. Special themed events include: 

  • May 1 & 29: Friday Night Train  
  • May 4: Star Wars Fan Train  
  • May 8: Jane Austen Train  
  • May 9: Mother’s Day Train  
  • May 15: Military Appreciation Train
