Fall is just around the corner, and Heber Valley’s September calendar is packed. Whether you’re gearing up for the valley’s biggest annual celebration, hunting for a scenic half marathon, browsing a harvest market at Sundance, or catching live music downtown, there’s plenty to enjoy as summer winds down and the aspens start to turn.

Midway Swiss Days (September 4–5)
Swiss Days is the signature event of Heber Valley’s year — a two-day celebration that draws visitors from across the state to the streets of Midway each Labor Day weekend. The festival is free to the public and runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. both Friday and Saturday at 75 100 West in Midway.
What to Expect
The town square comes alive with hundreds of vendors, food booths, live entertainment across two stages, and a spirit that’s hard to replicate anywhere else in Utah. It’s a genuine community celebration with deep roots, and first-timers and longtime locals alike look forward to it every year.
Entertainment
Both the Town Square Stage and the Town Hall Stage host full schedules of performances across both days, with everything from yodeling and alpenhorns to Irish dance, children’s choirs, and local bands. Master of Ceremonies Kristen Lloyd keeps the energy going on the main stage throughout the weekend.
Friday highlights on the Town Square Stage include sets from Johnny Utah, the Utah Arts Collective, Kerry Christensen (Master Yodeler), the Liberty Bells, Swiss Choir, Rhythmik Academy, and Joshua Creek. Saturday opens with the Wasatch Alpenhorns and Accordions Aloud, followed by the Rise Up Children’s Choir, A Bella Voce, One Voice Children’s Choir, Primary Ballet, and Wasatch Back Irish Dance. The Town Hall Stage adds the William Tell Play, Swiss Bells, Swiss Chorus, Puppet Players, and the Heber Valley Harp Symphony, among others.
The Parade
One of the most anticipated moments of the weekend, the Swiss Days Parade kicks off Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. along Midway Main Street, traveling west from 300 East to 200 West. This year’s parade carries an extra layer of celebration as entries are encouraged to blend Swiss tradition with patriotic spirit in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Arrive early to find a good spot along the route.
The 10K Run
Early risers can kick off Saturday with one of the state’s most popular 10K races, starting at 7:00 a.m. at Centennial Park (45 N Center St, Midway). The course winds through scenic Midway and offers a fun, community-filled race morning. Early registration is $40 through midnight the night before; race-day registration is $45 from 6:00–6:45 a.m. Awards go three levels deep per age division.
The Chuckwagon Breakfast & BBQ Dinner
Fuel up Saturday morning with the Chuckwagon Breakfast at 7:00 a.m. ($10), then close out the day with a BBQ Dinner starting at 4:00 p.m. ($20) — both beloved Swiss Days traditions.
Parking & Getting There
Parking near the square fills up fast, so plan to use one of the two shuttle lots. Coming from Park City, park at the lot across from Heber Valley Milk & Artisan Cheese (920 River Road, Midway). Coming from Provo, use the shuttle lot on Highway 113 at Tate Lane. Parking is $15, with shuttles running approximately every 15 minutes. Complimentary bike parking is available at Centennial Park. Note that pets are not permitted on the town square.
In Stitches Gathering at Wasatch County Library (September 1)
The Wasatch County Library’s Knit & Crochet Night is a drop-in creative evening welcoming fiber enthusiasts of every skill level. Bring your current project, meet fellow crafters, and enjoy a relaxed evening of stitching and socializing. No signup needed — just show up with your supplies.

Every Wednesday at noon, the Heber Midday Wednesday Ride departs from the Southfield Park parking lot for a 45–60 minute spin through Heber Valley.
